To attain a deeper understanding of Reiki training means knowing all the facets of this Japanese art form, and acquiring a lifelong learning attitude to discover new and intuitive ways that you can interact with the spiritual life force that is KI and how you can use this knowledge to help heal others as well. One thing you need to understand is that Reiki is a lifelong journey, it is not something that you learn once and Master. All the true experts and adepts of this form of natural healing will tell you that to be a true student of Reiki, one must practice and attune oneself to the various forms of energy that surround you, gain true insight into the energy meridians and how they work, understand the Chakras and how they affect the human body, decipher the true balance and harmony of nature and the self, and how well-being and balance work together t
o create a body that is healthy and free of disease. The more we attune ourselves with the life force of Reiki, the more we can understand how it can benefit the human body and treat more and more diseases and symptoms of discomfort.
Japanese Reiki and breathing are quite synonymous with one another and this technique is fathered by the original Master of Reiki, Usui, who used to blow upon his receivers as a method of healing. Of course, when you first learn this art, you will be using your hands, the most natural tools in Reiki healing. The hands positions are the very core at Reiki, and while they are not the only method to transfer energy and life force into the body, they represent the majority of healing therapy sessions in the world of natural healing. Master Usui, the father of this method, was often seen using his breath and blowing on the affected areas of the body as a method of healing. In his books, he proposed that breathing and Reiki were very important, and that breathing in meant absorbing the life force into the body, using our own energy meridians to absorb these energies as a prism would absorb light, and blowing it out as a method to solve the disruptions and problems within the Chakras and meridians of the human body. Breathing in techniques are abound for those who want to gain a deeper understanding of Reiki Training, and the rule of thumb to follow is to breathe in through the belly, absorbing all the KI within, trapping them within the vessels of our anointed temples and breathing out, using the energy like healing waves.
Basic principles and pillars of Reiki Training
Gaining mastery over Reiki also means that you need to know about the basic principles and pillars of Reiki training, There are three that you must be aware of – the Three Principals of Reiki, and I will talk a little more about them here. Actually, if you are considering the traditional forms of Reiki, then there are actually five principles. You might be coming across what would be the more Western version of Reiki – a modernized transformation of the traditional Japanese art form. But the basics remain quite the same. For one thing, the thing to know is that Usui himself was a fan of the world of one Emperor Meiji. He was one of the last emperors of Japan who followed the traditional order of succession and reigned till about the turn of the 20th century, much the same time of Usui himself. He was a famous Japanese emperor who transformed much of feudal Japan into the modern state that we know of today, and he also laid down moral principles that he expected his subjects and the rest of the country to follow. These principals were centered much on morality and behaviour, and that a clean spirit and a clean mind is a powerful thing to have. Basically, Usui followed these principals because he believed that a clean soul was one that could better attune itself to the life force of the universe. These principals were against things like thievery, murder, sexual deviance,
intemperance and even the act of lying. They centered around the idea that negative energy surrounded these wrong-doings, and the more one committed them, the more bad energy he or she would have within their body, and this would be a hammer blow against guiding the universal life force into the body for the purpose of healing. He insisted that all Reiki teachers and masters follow by the principals that forbade the committing of these acts, and these have trickled down into modern society to the principals of Reiki that we know today. Knowing these principals means having a much better and a deeper understanding of Reiki training as we know it.
Once we are able to master the concepts of Reiki training can we then administer Reiki self-healing, which is the best way to train, practice and deepen the connection between the mind and the universal energies. Meditation, focus and training will allow you to administer the Reiki principals and healing hands on yourself and this means the ability to have on hand, a powerful healing tool that requires no medicine or special equipment on hand. You would literally be a walking healer, and the more you practice on yourself, the better you will get at it. Gaining a deeper understanding of Reiki is all about taking the initiative, and like any other art, practice makes perfect. While there are people out there who are naturally more attuned to the energies around us, the basic fact is that the more you attune yourself, th
e deeper your understanding goes, the better you will get at Reiki. Of course, there are more ways for you to learn about Reiki, and gain a deeper understanding of Reiki through books to read, classes to attend, Master to listen to: but the basis for mastery is the desire and passion to improve – two of the greatest ingredients that will ensure your success as a Reiki master.
